Kathmandu: The Constitutional Council has recommended Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Tankamani Sharma to the post of Auditor General.
The meeting of the Council held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Wednesday decided to recommend Sharma for appointment to the post.
According to the Secretariat of the Prime Minister, Sharma was recommended for post of Auditor General, which had remained vacant for long. The Council has sent a letter to the Public Hearing Special Committee under the Legislature-Parliament for public hearing, to formally endorse the name.
As per the constitutional provision, the President appoints the Auditor General after the name recommended by the CC is endorsed in the parliamentary hearing.
