Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Bimalendra Nidhi, paid a courtesy call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at latter's official residence in New Delhi on Friday.
During the meeting, they discussed on Nepal-India bilateral relations as well as mutual interest, according to Nidhi's Private Secretariat.
On the occasion, Home Minister Nidhi also drew the attention of Indian Prime Minister Modi over the Kanchanpur incident.
In response, PM Modi said the investigation in to the Kanchanpur incident was underway while assuring Indian government's readiness to take action against the guilty.
Similarly, the Home Minister also urged the Indian government to provide with logistic support for local level election scheduled for May 14.
Also during the meeting, DPM Nidhi, on behalf of the Government of Nepal, Nepali people, Nepali Congress President, Sher Bahadur Deuba as well as on his own, congratulated Prime Minister Modi and his party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for gaining success in the recently held federal election.
On request for support, Prime Minister Modi replied that India was ready to provide all support required for local polls.
DPM and Home Minister Nidhi, who is in New Delhi, India, in course of participating in the Counter Terrorism Conference, is returning home today. RSS
