Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has posted a double-digit fall Wednesday. The NEPSE index decreased by 21.53 points to close at 1,425.51 points today.
The sub-indices of all groups except manufacturing declined today.
Sub-indices of insurance group decreased with the highest points of 136.91 points to close at 7,299.61 points. Likewise, the sub-indices of development bank, hydropower and microfinance group went down by 24.69 points, 24.29 points and 23.72 points to close at 7,299.61 points, 1,608.86 points and 1,925.24 points respectively.
The sub-indices of commercial banks, hotel, other and finance group declined by 17.86 points, 5.6 points, 4.36 points and 20.53 points respectively.
However, the sub-indices of manufacturing group increased by 6.52 points to close at 2,504.34 points.
The NEPSE registered transaction with 156 companies making the turnover around of Rs. 765 million with a total of 1,368,475 shares through 7,284 transactions.
The sensitive index which measures the index of group “A companies” went down by 4.72 points to close at 300.13 points on Wednesday.
