NEPSE index declines by 26.35 pts, turnover limit at Rs. 631 million

Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a double-digit fall on Sunday. NEPSE index declined by 26.35 points to close at 1,496.46 points today. The sub-indices of all group except trading group declined significantly.

The sub-indices of insurance, manufacturing and microfinance group decreased with highest points of 157.06 points, 50.55 points and 30.59 points to close at 8,235.67 points, 2,396.88 points and 1,787.67 points respectively.

Likewise, the sub-indices of development bank, commercial bank and other group went down by 30.91 points, 24.29 points and 11.57 points to stand at 1,794.36 points, 1,277.02 points and 817.60 points respectively. Sub-indices of hydropower, hotel and finance group also declined by 23.68 points, 9.33 points and 6.37 points respectively.

However, the sub-indices of trading group went up by 2.7 points to close at 229.31 points today.
The NEPSE registered transaction with 159 companies making the turnover around of Rs. 631 million with a total of 1,506,404 shares through 7,318 transactions.

The sensitive index which measures the index of group “A companies” decreased by 5.44 points to close at 314.20 points on Sunday.
