Kathmandu: The capital market has posted a double-digit fall on Wednesday. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 20.63 points to close at 1,416.61 points today.
The sub-indices of all groups declined significantly.
The sub-indices of insurance and hotel groups decreased with highest points of 134.82 points and 29.33 points to close at 7,286.87 points and 2,122.39 points respectively.
Likewise, the sub-indices of microfinance, commercial banks, hydropower and development bank group went down by 26.68 points, 16.28 points, 26.01 points and 17.16 points to stand at 1,716.26 points, 1,225.56 points, 1,911.62 points and 1,603.40 points respectively.
The NEPSE registered transaction with 155 companies making the turnover around of Rs. 445 million with a total of 890,463 shares through 5,059 transactions.
The sensitive index which measures the index of group “A companies” decreased by 4.39 points to close at 298.07 points on Wednesday.
