Kathmandu: Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) has planned to sell around 2,500 goats and mountain goats in the Kathmandu Valley for the upcoming Dashain festival.
The Corporation has been planning to sell 1,500 goats and 1,000 mountain goats in the Kathmandu Valley, said Shankar Sapkota, spokesperson at NFC.
“We are planning to bring chyangra from Mustang and goats will be brought from Tulsipur and Makwanpur and others districts,” he said.
“The selling quantity of the Corporation will be very nominal compared to the demand of Valley. Our objective is to control the artificial price of traders,” Sapkota said.
The demand of goats stood at ranging from 50,000 to 60,000 during the Dashain festival.
Stating that it is the responsible of the NFC to sell qualitative and healthy goats to the consumers, he assured that the NFC’s goats will be healthier and fresh.
