Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is to issue Treasury bills worth Rs. 5.77 billion on Sunday.
Public Debt Management Department under the central bank is issuing the 28, 91 and 364 days Treasury bills on order to obtain internal debt on behalf of the government.
The NRB will sell 28-days Treasury bills worth Rs 3 billion and 91 days Treasury bills worth Rs. 770 million and 364 days Treasury bills worth Rs. 2 billion through auction, according to the Treasury Bill Auction notice of the bank.
The bank said that the interested parties would have to submit their sealed auction trading application by 3 pm Sunday.
The 91 days Treasury bills worth Rs. 770 million is renewal.
The bidders should bid through Online Bidding System (OBS) only.
Bidders, who do not have account at NRB, should present earnest money deposit voucher in PDMD by 3:00 P.M. Allocated amount will be settled through NRB Bank Account, it said.
The bank said that the Treasury bills will allocate on August 15 (Tuesday).
“Discount earning is taxable. Out of total offered amount, 15 per cent is reserved for non-competitive bidders,” the notice said.
The 28 days Treasury bill will mature on September 12 and 91 days on November 14 this year. The 364 days Treasury bill will mature on August 14, 2018.
Previously, NRB issued Treasury bills worth Rs. 5.25 billion on July 31.
