Kathmandu: Paddy plantation this year has been carried out in around 93 per cent of the total paddy fields across the country.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD), paddy plantation has been completed in 1,441,098 hectares of land out of the total 1,552,000 by Monday.
Paddy plantation in Terai, the major paddy production region of the country, has remained low as 90 per cent so far.
Furthermore, the paddy plantation in major districts including Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi has remained below sixty per cent though the plantation season has almost come to an end.
As per the latest data available from the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD), only 58 per cent plantation has been completed in Dhanusa (38,013 hectares), Mahottari (20,010 hectares) and Sarlahi (49,650 hectares) to the date.
Likewise, plantation has completed around 79 per cent (40,744 hectares) in Siraha district.
The paddy plantation was completed in 99.92 per cent (58,158 hectares) of land in the mountainous region, 97.83 per cent (399,675 hectares) in hilly region.
The mountainous region has around 58,158 hectares of land fit for the paddy cultivation, 399,675 hectares in hilly region and 1,094,636 hectares in the Terai.
