Kathmandu: Himalayan Hydro Expo-2018, the first of its kind international event is going to be held from January 5-7 at Exhibition Centre, Kathmandu.
The event was going to be jointly organized by Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal (IPPAN) and Expo and Event in Nepal.
Speaking at a press conference organised today in the capital, Shailendra Guragain, chairman of IPPAN said that they are organising the event to facilitate the government and energy producers and large investors from nation and abroad to help meet the government set goals of producing electricity from 17,000 MW to 20,000 MW in 10 years.
Guragain said the objective of the event is also to exchange the forum for hydro tourism potentials by increasing the rate of international clients in hydro-related projects.
He said that the demand for energy in Nepal is growing from 7 per cent to 9 per cent annually.
The event is going to be participated by authorities from the government, INGOs, NGOs, hydro developers, investors, investment partners, license holders, turbine manufacturers, generators, transmission lines, tunnel builders, construction materials, pipes, chemicals, electric utilities, exporters from China, America, Norway, German and Bulgaria.
Entry for the visitors is free but only to the business card holders. After depositing the business card of the visitors, the organizer will provide pass for the exhibition.
