Sindhuli, April 15 (RSS): A lightning strike on a transformer has disrupted power supply to various villages in the district for the past three days, forcing the locals to live in dark.

The 1500kv transformer at a substation of Sindhuli branch of the Nepal Electricity Authority has been damaged in the lightning strike. As a result, four rural municipalities—Marin rural municipality, Sunkoshi rural municipality, Golanjor rural municipality, tinpatan rural municipality—and some part of Kamalamai Municipality are without electricity.

The affected locals are deprived of using electric appliances and machines like rice sheller, charging mobile phones and other electric equipments.
Chief of the NEA branch Lila Nath Aryal said efforts were on to fix the problem, adding that it would take some more days to repair damaged transformer.
