Sherpa elected ANFA President

Kathmandu: Karma Chhiring Sherpa has been elected President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

The 16th general assembly of the ANFA held on Saturday at ANFA Complex in Satdobato picked Sherpa as the new leader.

Sherpa garnered 63 votes, while his nearest rival Mani Kunwar 12 votes.

Four persons–Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Upendra Man Singh, Krishna Bahadur Thapa and Bir Bahadur Khadka–were chosen as Vice President.

Likewise, other elected members include Dawa Lama, Niroj Khadgi, Purna Man Chitrakar, Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Madhusudan Upadhyay, Pradesh Singh Rathaur, Dinesh Byanjankar, Dirgha Bahadur KC, Kiran Rai, Bijaya Ghale and Ratna Kumar Shrestha. A total of 75 representatives were present in the meeting.

Inaugurating the assembly, Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bishwokarma pledged support for the development of sports.
